S/Y Idéfix

Kattegat, 2017

Idéfix is a Bavaria 44 from 2004, build in Gebelstat, Germany. Idéfix is a cruiser with a lot of space below and sails well too. She had a large cockpit and equipped with an arch.

We love to anchor, so we have installed three solar panels on the arch, 160 watts each. We tried a wind generator, but it doesn’t do the job. But it’s a “maybe” on our list of things to buy… We just started to prep Idéfix for long distance cruising, and of course, we have a lot on the “nice-to-have list”, but right now we are more focused on the “need-to-have”, and the “must-be-done” list.

We have one diesel tank which holds nearly 208 litres of diesel. We want to put in an extra diesel tank, but where to put it? We have dual navigation systems. The primary one is from GARMIN, and backup is the Navionics app and OpenCPN. We have an AIS transponder which ables us to see other ships, but a radar would be excellent to have in fog or when there is a risk of drizzle. We have a 5 KWh heating system onboard powered by diesel.

We strive for high safety and have therefore equipped the boat with a life raft for ten people, VHF with DSC, EPIRB (need-to-have), safety gear, life jackets, and more to come.
