…..or at least for a while. We are going skiing in Norway! YAY! 😀
While we wait to set sail for the Med in 2020, we let ourselves have small adventures once in a while. We love our liveaboard lives, but sometimes it is just lovely to have a couple of days away from the boat. We can focus on each other not having to think about boat projects, laundry, and shopping.
It’s been five years since we last went skiing, so it was long overdue — this time we choose Rauland in Norway. The 3-hour sail from Hirtshals in Denmark to Larvik in Norway was WAY FASTER than we could ever accomplish with Idéfix. Four hours after leaving Larvik travelling by car we opened the door to our cabin.
The beautiful wooden cabin was perfect. Lots of snow, great view over lake Uvatn, cosy wood interior, a fireplace and close to the lifts. Each morning starts with a substantial breakfast including freshly baked bread. Then a day of skiing on the downhill trails. When the lifts close, or when we are tied, we return to the cabin and get warm with hot chocolate and pancakes.
Beautiful nature, being outside getting red cheeks and spending quality time together. What’s not to like?
