Boat and equipment
She's one of "The Robot Boats"
Idéfix is a Bavaria 44 built in 2004.
The boat is German and comes from “The Robot Halls” as Bavaria’s shipyard is called, since everything is built on a assembly line as we know it from cars.
The boat was designed by “J & J Design”, with double steering wheel control, large cockpit and a lovely large v-berth alias owners cabin.
Build after Germanischer Lloyd certificering.
BUILT FOR CRUISING
Idéfix is a heavy lady, but she still knows how to move.
She is equipped with a bulb keel that makes it possible to sail in shallow waters. With a draft of only 1,65 meters, we can almost sail her "up on the beach".
But she is still certified to ocean sailing.
"We only had the opportunity of a short presentation tour in the 44, but she sails very well. We sailed in about 8 m/sec on flat water, hauled, which gave a satisfying speed of 6.2 knots, but did not impress on the height. With the wind in front of the beam she did 7.5 knots and 8 knots in the puffs. In half wind she was stable at 7.5 knots, and abaft the beam the speed fell to 5.6-6 knots."
